12 Days Mount Elbrus Climb

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Mineralnye Vody. Meet at the airport and 3,5 hours bus ride to a hotel in the Baksan valley near the Mt Elbrus. Overnight at the hotel.

 

 

Day 2: Acclimatization walk to the Terskol peak (3100m). We will see very close view of Mt EIbrus. On the way we pass the wonderful waterfall and observatory. Return and overnight at the hotel.
 

 

Day 3: Acclimatization ascent up to the Cheget Mountain 3460m, 4 hours walking. Return and overnight at the hotel.
 

 

Day 4: We take the ski lift up to the Old Krugozor station (2950 m). Just ner the ski lift station there is a small lodge where we put our main luggage and go for the acclimatization hike up to the Garabashi station (3800m). About 2,5-3 hrs walking up. Return back to the lodge to overnight.


 

Day 5: We use ski lifts from the Old Krugozor Station up to the Garabashi (3800m). Get places at the huts near to the ski lift station. Acclimatization hike up to 4100m. Return and overnight at the huts.
 

 

Day 6: Acclimatization hike to the Pastukhovo Rocks up to 4800m, 3,5-4 hours walk. Retun and overnight at the huts.


 

Day 7: Rest day before the climb of Elbrus.


 

Day 8: Summit day. Leave the huts in the very early morning (about 2-3am) to climb the highest - west peak of Mount Elbrus, 5642m. 9-10 hours walking up. Return to the huts to overnight.


 

Day 9/10: Two reserve day to attempt Elbrus in case of bad weather (or descent to the hotel in Baksan valley).

 

 

Day 11: Return to the hotel in Baksan valley. Overnight stay in the hotel.


 

Day 12: Drive to the Mineralnye Vody airport for the flight home.
